Finance Department Promotion: Head Office in Edmonton, AB

We are proud of KAG Canada’s culture in recognizing and promoting internal talent when career opportunities become available. With that said, we are pleased to announce the promotion of Tyler Pennington to Controller.

Tyler has a well-rounded background both professionally from his work experience at an accounting firm, and personally while participating in various team and individual sports as both an athlete and coach. Tyler’s current role has a more focused scope within our business and this new role will afford opportunity for him to become more involved in all our Canadian operating companies. The Controller position is responsible for supporting KAG Canada as a whole; our team members, paying our vendors and the financial reporting of the companies which make-up KAG Canada.

At KAG Canada, we know the most effective way to hire the most engaged team members is through word-of-mouth. Tyler came as a referral from a member of our finance team, who also came as a referral from another employee. The opportunity was presented as not only a way to work with his former colleagues but also to learn, develop, and take his financial career to the next level all while experiencing a new industry – which he has excelled at!

When asked about what he enjoys coming to work each day, this is what he shared; “KAG Canada is a large organization and industry leader that is constantly growing yet still has a small business feel.  What makes us a special place is our culture and our people, and I have really enjoyed getting to meet and build relationships with everyone.  I’m looking forward to continuing to learn and grow my skillset, and to further develop new relationships with our teams across the country.”
