Our People Set Us Apart

Equipment can be matched. Processes can be copied. It’s nearly impossible, however, to recreate the synergy that occurs when a close-knit group of professionals work together to achieve a single goal. In other words, it’s the people at KAG Canada that set us apart.

Why Work at KAG Canada

We are committed to our people, with our full employment structure being designed to provide a better life for our employees.

  • Commitment to safety and security:  Work for an employer that focuses on your safety—every minute of every day.
  • Attractive and flexible benefits program:  This includes RRSP matching, life and disability insurance, and customizable dental and extended health benefits coverage.
  • Corporate Citizen: Be part of a company that has a strong moral compass where we will always conduct ourselves with the highest level of integrity.

We also support our employees in their Professional growth and education, as well as their overall health and wellbeing.

Our Culture

Are you KAG Canada ready? Here are the beliefs and qualities that are key to our work culture.

  • You believe that there is no “I” in “team”.
  • You understand that learning never ends.
  • Safety is very important, not only for yourself, but for your teammates as well.
  • Having fun at work is important to you.

  • You want a career, not just a job.
  • You want to expand your skills—even if it means a bit of extra time.
  • You’re not afraid to roll up your sleeves and get your hands dirty in order to get the job done.

Diversity & Inclusion at KAG Canada

Message from Our Chief Operating Officer

As one of our core values, our people are at the heart of our success. We incorporate this principle into every aspect of our organization. Consistent with our values, we work to ensure that equal opportunity is afforded to all who seek employment at our company.

Here are some of the ways we are working to promote diversity and inclusion at KAG Canada:

  • As part of our commitment to diversity and inclusion, we follow equal opportunity employment practices. We are committed to recruiting, hiring, training, employing, promoting, compensating, and administering all terms, conditions, and privileges of employment without regard to race, religious beliefs, gender, physical or mental disability, marital status, sexual orientation, age, ancestry, political belief or activity, source of income, or family status.
  • Our Employment Equity Committee is comprised of members from each of our regions. The committee meets quarterly a year to discuss ways of increasing diversity when it comes to our workforce and discuss any concerns that have been brought forward by employees regarding potential barriers. Our Employment Equity Committee also hosts guest speakers from our employment partners and other organizations.
  • We actively seek partnerships with various organizations to help qualified job candidates of all backgrounds find a rewarding and fulfilling career in transportation and construction.
  • We offer a wide array of training and development opportunities to our employees to help them succeed and grow in their careers, both personally and professionally. We provide employees with in-classroom and practical training, as well as online training courses through CarriersEdge. In addition to our robust and customized training program that we have developed in-house, we also work with our customers and other partners to provide additional training and development opportunities to our employees.

Through our ongoing investment in diversity and inclusion initiatives, we will continue to foster an environment where all of our employees feel valued, respected, and included, broaden our understanding of people with different backgrounds and experiences, and develop innovative solutions to better serve each other and our customers.

Sincerely,

Grant Mitchell
