Anhydrous Ammonia is used in the agriculture industry throughout Canada and United States. At KAG Canada we haul the most product throughout the Prairie Provinces of Alberta, Saskatchewan, and Manitoba. Most facilities load the product for the driver and the driver is then responsible for unloading the product at the customer’s site. At the customer’s site, the driver will unload into a customer’s storage bullet; most bullets are in remote locations. Site maps are provided, however strong journey management and navigation skills on the part of the driver are required.

Two seasons – spring and fall. The spring hauling season aligns with seeding and typically starts the beginning of May and often peaks around the May long weekend. By the first week of June the season ends or has significantly slowed. The fall season typically starts in late September/early October and is shorter in duration than the spring, finishing around the end of the October.

  • NH3 (Anhydrous Ammonia)
  • Liquid Fertilizer
  • Dry Fertilizer

In addition to fertilizers, we also haul crops for the local farmers.

Anhydrous Ammonia, commonly referred as NH3 due to its chemical formula, is an agriculture fertilizer. It is liquid when transported and stored under pressure and is a gas at atmospheric temperature (21°C) and pressure.

We use a fleet of trailers consisting of 7 axle C-Trains as well as combination of 7 and 8 axle B-Trains. Equipment assignment is at the discretion of dispatch. If there is a mechanical breakdown requiring in shop service, you will be assigned alternate equipment for the duration of the breakdown (provided availability).

The duration and volume of the season is heavily impacted by weather and therefore the dates of employment are subject to change without notice as per the business needs. Dry conditions are required for farmers to enter the field, so the dryer the spring and fall, the more NH3 applied and the more we are required to haul! A higher percentage of farmers apply NH3 in the spring compared to the fall, thus accounting for a shorter fall season compared to spring.
