Leadership Promotions
November 7, 2022
At KAG Canada, the Canadian service group for The Kenan Advantage Group, Inc., (KAG)., we are fortunate to have great depth of talent across our organization with individuals who are ready to take on additional responsibilities and challenges to move our company to the next level of growth and success.
With that said, we are pleased to announce well-deserved promotions within our KAG Canada leadership team. Lynette McMann has been promoted to Sr. VP Operations; Derek Friesen has been named Sr. VP Finance; and Tyler Cochrane has been promoted to Sr. VP of Information.
Lynette McMann will continue her role overseeing current Westcan Bulk Transport and Paul’s Hauling operating groups. In addition to this she will assume direct responsibilities of leading KAG Canada’s safety, fleet services and maintenance programs. Lynette joined Westcan Bulk’s office staff in 1993 which quickly led to a dispatching role the next year. Soon after, she began her career in operations as Terminal Manager, Operations Manager and eventually VP of Canadian Operations in 2020.
Coupled with his current finance responsibilities, Derek Friesen will be charged with further enhancing our human resource capabilities within KAG Canada. He joined Westcan Bulk in 2002 as a part-time laborer and then moved into an accounts receivable role until 2007. He left to join the accounting firm of KPMG where he obtained his CA (chartered accountant) certification. Derek rejoined KAG Canada in 2011 as Senior Financial Analyst and then on to Corporate Controller and VP Finance.
Tyler Cochrane is currently responsible for IT, business analytics, and process improvement, at KAG Canada. Tyler joined Westcan Bulk in 1992. His 30-year career is a great example of an individual who was fortunate enough to gain experience in most aspects of transportation from maintenance to driver, dispatcher, terminal manager, business analyst, director of operations, etc. He earned his Six Sigma Black Belt in 2020.
Please join me in supporting and congratulating these well-qualified and talented employees in their new leadership roles with the company.
